Okay, so we get it – summer is a gorgeous time of year to get married but if the photos in this blog are anything to go by, you’ll see that Autumn is just as incredible.
Chloe and Harry’s Autumn wedding at Rockbeare Manor, near Exeter, in Devon was packed full of fun. The laughs didn’t stop, the sun didn’t stop shining and they had the most unforgettable sunset to top it all off.
In this blog we are going to give you lots of Autumn Wedding ideas and inspiration, as well as 6 great reasons why getting married in Autumn is worth serious consideration. We’re pretty sure you won’t regret it!
It’s an opportunity for you to create something unique, and embrace colours and tones which have depth, warmth and a striking impact.
and in our opinion the parkland looks it’s most striking in October and November when there is a display of golden tones and the thousands of established trees seem to shimmer in the soft autumn light (The Driveway is a spectacle of it’s own!).
So far this year we’ve enjoyed a mild autumn with guests able to make use of the outside, but if not, inside our country manor house we have lots of space, and plenty of dramatic backdrops too.
…And as a real bonus, you won’t have to worry about sun burn, or your guests overheating! A 3 piece suit in 27 degrees isn’t cool
Rockbeare Manor in Devon, is an impressive wedding venue but in an understated and elegant way, and you will find an instant warm and welcoming feel as you walk into the stunning entrance hall. The fires are lit, candles alight and you and your guests will feel immediately relaxed, able to soak up the cosy but stylish ambience.
Anemones, chocolate cosmos, dahlias, delphiniums, hydranageas, lilies, lisianthus, Eryngium (blue thistle), orchids, ranunculus and roses. Need we say more?!
This will no doubt be appreciated by your guests, especially if they are travelling from afar.
As the evenings draw in and the temperature comes down a little it’s lovely to be able to make that switch from cold dishes, salads, and white meats to some more adventurous seasonal food. Perhaps we could tempt you to Roasted Duck Breast with Confit Leg, Lyonnaise Potato, Seasonal Greens and a Blackberry Jus, which can be found on our Regency Menu.
This is where our Head Chef Ben, really comes into his own. We’re proud to use Devon’s own larder when it comes to creating your wedding breakfast menu, and will always look locally first to seek the best ingredients available.
We also have our very own orchard at Rockbeare Manor and Ben and the team use the apples we grow wherever possible, but mostly to make apple sauce for our hog boards evening food option, and in many of our desserts, including one of our favourites, our Rockbeare Manor Orchard Apple Frangipane Tart with Mascarpone Cream, from our Minuet Menu.
So now we’ve made you feel REALLY hungry….ooops! But, hopefully you also feel inspired, and if you are engaged to be married perhaps this blog will encourage you to think outside of the norm, to create a totally unique, jaw-droppingly beautiful wedding day that you and your guests will always remember.
Whichever season you’d like to get married in, Rockbeare Manor is up there among the best wedding venues in Devon. If you would like to find out more about having your wedding at Rockbeare Manor, give us a call on 01392 797444 or email us here and we’d be delighted to show you around.
