OUR ETHOS
Rockbeare Manor is part of a story, of a committed team with a love of creating unforgettable moments, exceptional events and not settling for second best.
We don't do average!
It's about building something that we are proud of, but importantly something which our guests will be amazed by. All of this is based on a foundation of honesty, value, transparency and trust.
Integrity is everything to us and we love, and are proud to work in hospitality.
We champion local suppliers and producers. Our founder, Andy, has a background in agriculture, and so he's particularly passionate about food ethics. This core belief and value transcends throughout the team and our Head Chef and Andy are always seeking the best quality local food and drink providers.
Consistently delivering brilliant events, and gaining such lovely feedback from our clients, is in no small way down to the dedicated team that we are lucky enough to work with. From the talented group of craftsmen and decorators that meticulously refurbished the house, to our imaginative kitchen team, enthusiastic housekeepers and groundsmen, and of course the events team, all of whom work attentively to ensure that there is always a warm welcome to all who come to Rockbeare Manor.
The thing that every one of our team members has in common - they care, and take immense pride in all they do.
Having been a cherished family home since the 18th Century, Rockbeare Manor found itself on the Historic England At Risk Register and was in urgent need of repair and renovation. After a long period of time on the market, and with an uncertain future, Rockbeare Manor was acquired in 2015 by Andrew Carveth, the founder of PM Hospitality Ltd - an events business established in 2006, with proven track record and expertise in this field.
With success stories at two other venues,
Priston Mill near Bath, and
Coombe Lodge near Bristol, Rockbeare Manor was the third venue to be added to the collection.
The extensive restoration and sensitive renovations commenced in September 2015 and Andy, alongside his Co-Director (and now wife!) Aimée worked together to ensure that within nine months the events and wedding venue was pristine, and ready to welcome its first guests.
The exterior and interior of the house has been refurbished from top to bottom, to an impeccable standard - it's a grand Country House events and wedding venue with a contemporary colour pallet and sumptuous furnishings, but importantly, a welcoming and relaxed feel. The neutral schemes mean that any event colour choice will work alongside the tasteful un-cluttered look.
