You Can't Cancel Love

If the last couple of months have shown us anything, it's that life is full of surprises. Few of us remember a situation that has affected so many people in such a breadth of different ways, as those seen lately due to the coronavirus pandemic. But with adversity comes strength, unity and determination and it's been fascinating to see how people have pulled together in these hugely challenging times. For us, it has certainly reinforced something that we already knew...the wedding and hospitality industry is full of wonderful, creative minds that will go to the ends of the earth to help and support their clients. 

Despite the (often imbalanced) reports about the wedding industry found in the media lately, it's not been an easy time for any of them. Many wedding suppliers are family businesses, or consist of just one or two self employed people and the worry being faced by many of them, having built up successful and brilliant companies over many years is daunting to say the least. It's not any easier for the larger wedding businesses either...with big full time teams to look after, and huge overheads which don't just go away when the events aren't running. 

But... it's not all doom and gloom! The mood out there amongst our industry friends is inspirational and even with the uncertainty they are facing, the overwhelming majority are going above and beyond to facilitate postponements for their couples in the fairest way they possibly can. 



It makes us very proud to be part of an industry that cares so much!

 Now, a message to those couples who have so far made the difficult decision to postpone their wedding, or if your wedding this summer is still hanging in the balance.... 

How amazing you are! We've been speaking to lots of you lately and we have been so humbled by your understanding, and willingness to work with us to re-arrange your wedding in the most challenging of circumstances. We really do appreciate it enormously and genuinely cannot wait for your wedding to come around. When it does, the team here at Rockbeare Manor, along with all of your trusted suppliers will work together to make sure that it is well worth the wait! Just imagine the party...it is going to be immense! 



Stay positive, as you are. What will be will be - you can't cancel love and we'll still be here to host your big day, even if it's a little later than planned.

As we're spreading a little love today, we would also like to share some of the wonderful, kind comments sent to us by those couples whose weddings have been recently postponed.

We are so looking forward to the day we can fling the gates to Rockbeare Manor open again! We're very proud of reputation we have built since we opened as a wedding venue in Devon in 2016, and we have a talented events team waiting in the wings, raring to go! It's a labour of love, it's personal and everything we do here is based on trust, transparency and an ultimate desire to do our absolute best in everything that we do (it's not like we put any pressure on ourselves or anything!!)

Aimée has had a career in the wedding and events industry for over 20 years and in this time has worked with some of the biggest catering and events businesses in the country. Her passion is held firmly in the hospitality industry. Since 2007 Aimée has managed wedding venues, but she has been at Rockbeare Manor since it's transformation from beloved family home to wedding venue in Devon back in 2015.

Rockbeare Manor has two sister venues of which Aimée is also very much involved in - Coombe Lodge and Priston Mill, both in Somerset.
